holy crap, that was interesting.
so I go down to the Bil Graham Civic, and like Rob said, its sewn up tight! They wouldn't even let you walk on the sidewalk near the building. every hole in the fencing had a rent-a-cop standing in it. And then SFPD on the four corners for back up. There were massive AC venting systems on both sides, I am assuming because its gets really hot in there, since the space is big, and old, and isn't used regularly.
All the rent a cops said the same thing, that they would be there for 2 or 3 weeks, but had no idea what the "private event" was. There was aluminum rigging (like for lighting) structured as a really long line temporary entrance going around the block.
SFPD said "they are building something massive in there", and that it was "a new product launch", but didn't know more than that. So I would say Rob has it nailed, thru the power of the interwebs, very impressive.
personally I agree its too early for it matter to PTK, but the intrigue is a nice diversion for the group.
