That is speculation. First is $10million in POETs treasure considered running low?
Is POET having problems getting the VCSEL to work? Yes they have had delays but where they are right now is entirely unknown to us.
The expected or hoped for NRE has not worked out. Again we do not know that so it is speculation. Now it is very likely that some of the NRE discussions have been delayed as a result of the delay in the VCSEL but we do not know at this point in time what is happening with the VCSEL. We know that they are still in advanced discussions for NRE so why would that be the case?
It must be very expensive to continually re-do a new recipe for the epitaxial stack to produce new wafers, and that is draining funds at a rapid rate.
Again this is guesswork. Has the epi stack continually required re-do’s. How much does a redo cost? The cost of the wafer? The cost to key in the new parameters into the computer that runs the MOCVD? Don’t know but I seriously doubt we are talking big money here.
So draining funds rapidly? I did not hear that at all.
