Re: Short Position

All of these new hires did not come onboard, along with Singapore funding, sophisticated investors, and A*Star partnership to sit idly by and not go into production. All evidence points to going into production, and as Suresh says, allow POET greater control over its destiny.

Which to me suggests it has not enjoyed that luxury yet, due to bigger more powerful silent partners. And now things are changing for the better.

These new hires are going to cost a lot of money, which would be foreseen. They will have to explain how they are paying for the ramp-up, and when, and how.

Denselight is going to produce POET engines. AOC roadmap is "most of 2017" according to Suresh. So, the validation would have to happen soon ,or have already happened.

Many technology companies have a quiet period in January. I think this may be something POET is considering.

All my opinion. I have been busy with work and not enjoying this board much as of late.

Re: Try to be objective (re-Subhash)

I don't chime in much lately but remember POET has a poison pill.

This thread on a buyout should end now.

Re: A Happy New Year to Taiwan

Happy New Year to all on this forum. I wish us all a positive and exciting 2017, and I remain optimistic about the POET plan that will lead to the monetization of an AOC product. I am optimistic enough that I bought myself another chunk of shares last week, which at the least will help this seemingly endless 'averaging down' phase we are in.

Question for the board: we have clear guidance from earlier in 2016 regarding the detector as the first product. We have confirmed NRE in 2016, which presumably is the first tranche, with more coming in 2017. However, in the latter part of 2016 as Fairchiij noted the company stopped talking about the detector. They are now only talking about the AOC as the 'integrated' product (POET Optical engine). But the presentation references component sales and suggests these might come first? (Detector?).

Is it logical to assume that the confusion on POET's first product is due to the customer for the detector (military, space?), and thus it is not really a commercially available product, like the AOC will be?

I can't figure this out.

Cheers,

Re: Detector

Great post, FJ. I wonder if that nominal NRE that showed up in the last reporting is related to the detector product and those amazing results achieved from the first set of wafers. My take away was that the NRE was coming in tranches and aligned with POET's reporting, "NRE starting in 2016" was achieved.

I guess add it as another question to be answered in 2017...

Cheers to all from NYC and en route to Abuja.

Re: 3 new patents

Great find. It is very plausible that POET is managing any and all risks to its IP before it can effectively disrupt on a global level. Between the issuing of these patents and the recent reporting on the latest key patents, and the new policy on releasing news in a tightly controlled manner, I beleive POET is taking the cautious and smart approach to disruption. No hype, no fears over IP theft, and indisputable customer validation.

If this is all true, the POET AOC's are going to blow the proverbial socks off the industry at some point in or before 2018.

Shelton group

i found it interesting that the NR also named Leanne Sievers as a contact, along with Brett.

does that mean we can expect more effort from Shelton? Or was Brett not capable of managing the account alone?
