I'm sure that it's clear to everyone by now that unless we have some sort of government support for infrastructure, the Ring of Fire will remain on hold. The value will be waiting for us, but there will be no economic way to extract it.

I've seen a series of unexplained increases in SP, followed by.....nothing. I suspect, although I have no proof of any sort, that there are loose lips in government. They are not under the same constraints on the release of material information, and if chatter suggests that a funding deal might be getting a little bit closer to crystalizing, maybe The Street gets a little bit of a buzz going. Bay St. and Queen's Park aren't that far apart.

IMHO, one problem is that we have a Conservative PM, and a Liberal government in Ontario. Harper does not want to let the Libs succeed, but at the same time, he can't totally refuse.

If somebody can get the governments to co-operate, we'll be rocking. Until then, it seems to be politics, IMHO.
