Let's say that Sprott etal bought 100,000 shares @ 4.50

Total cost $450,000

Now they buy 400,000 share @ 50 cents

New money $200,000

They now have 500,000 shares for total cost of $650,000

Their average cost is now $1.30 per share, not $4.50
