And the writer of this biased un-researched piece calls herself a "Global economics reporter."
To me she has no right to call herself a reporter and shows me with this article no attention to economics……..She should be ashamed of this story.

The Yankton Sioux Tribe also followed their lead with their own suit against the Corps, also resting on the violation of free, prior and informed consent and other federal statutes.
The tribe argues that many cultural sites remain hidden and would require further exploration, but the judge was satisfied with research conducted by the Corps. Standing Rock Chairman Dave Archambault II, who filed the injunction, could not be reached for comment.

Dakota Access, subsidiary of Energy Transfer Partners LP that is building the pipeline, declined to comment on Saturday.
Brigham McCown, an industry consultant and former head of pipeline regulator U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, said the federal action came "out of left field" and was unprecedented.
"We don’t know what the implications are, other than that it's going to have a huge chilling effect on our national ability to move forward with infrastructure projects," he said.
When you read the links above…you understand that The Standing Rock Tribe chairman Dave Archambault II filed this injuction…..and the USA federal gov’t came out of left field….to “pause” this project…..and it was unprecedented…..
Why did the USA gov’t do this??

This allows the Tribes to “go big” and develop over a gigawatt of green power financed by the OSPA through the issuance of power revenue bonds, guaranteeing the Tribes ownership interest in the power generation and transmission system and that the Tribes will share appropriately in the proceeds.
The public power authority model ensures that surplus revenue is distributed to the Member Tribes. It also requires that such surplus revenues be used for “municipal purposes,” ensuring that the revenue will be reinvested into the Tribes and surrounding territories in infrastructure development and other economic development projects.

Folks let me ask you an economic question……Do windmills compete against pipelines? Would a competing pipeline power project….not affect your…surplus windmill…..revenue??
Follow the money folks…..when you see this level of ……protest…and not just for this project ….but for “other” projects.
