You don't know that. These guys could be desparate, and their choices were between slim chance and none.

Hedge funds are facing the biggest challenges they may ever have faced. If they don't report decent quarterly or annual *profits*, they may be doomed. Pinetree, for example, was down to about 10% of their 52-week high when this was announced. Did they even have a choice but to participate?

These funds need juice, and we're the sweetest low hanging fruit. I think that's all there is to it.
