should I buy some today, sell it in January and fill my tfsa with the profit ???

I've been pondering the same thing. I'm looking at buying now outside the TFSA. Should get you lower share prices I would think - and a bird in the hand...

Then, if CUU still exists in January you transfer to your TFSA only the number of shares that equates to $5000. Your broker should be able to do an 'in kind' transfer, if not just quick sell/re-purchase. If in a gain position then you don't have to report the capital gain on the transferred shares until April 2013.

This is the way I am likely to go. Get'em while they are still cheap. There is a good chance that new cash in TFSAs will only add to buying pressure in early January imo.

Again, maybe a moot point if we get that "biggie" of a NR before xmas....those insiders sure have been blacked out for a heck of a long time, imo....
