Thank you for that!! I believe that a lot of the people who read and post on this hub as well as a lot of others who just own shares in SLI are confused by this difference.
Many that I have talked to and listened to seem to think that we HAVE TO sell our shares to get any cash out of the buyout. NOT SO.
All managment has to do is say to the successful bidder---"we want $100 dollars or $1000 dollars per share for the gold that is in the Tesoro find" We keep our shares and continue on with business as usual. It can be that easy and that simple. Managment simply splits up the PROFIT amongst the shareholders in SLI as a dividend.
We do not even have to sell ALL of the Tesoro, just a part of it if that is what they decide to do. Or they may decide to sell just the proven part for ??? dollars per share for proven reserves and ???? dollars per share for inferred or unproven reserves.
Ive always said-- "This is a resource play ---not a share play." That is what I meant by Resource Play vs Share play. We can still own our shares in the Company and be filthy rich, drinkin Pinia Colladas on the SS St Elias in the Carribean.
So----dont be too anxious to sell your shares to get cash from your investment--you probably dont have to.
