I also did a double take on PQ's comments. I knew that the 1926 estimate wasn't $10B. I assumed he was applying today's prices to the amount of gold estimated at the time. As far as the potential resources, the SFMI website says there are an estimated 4M gold eq oz, which of course also includes silver. I'm not sure where that estimate comes from. I remember seeing a couple other estimates floating around, though I can't remember where offhand. They were all in the same range of ~4-8M oz Au eq.
