Someone here at work transferred in an oil stock that he bought at .68.

He was able to transfer it in at the day's low price of .50 on that particular day when it closed at .60.

The only thing about doing that is he was not able to claim a loss on the transfer.

If he transferred it at a gain, he would have had to pay capital gains on the difference.
