It's called diversification. Reduce overall investment risk and to avoid damaging investor value from the poor performance of a single project. By acquiring Cliff's and MacDonald Mines properties Noront has dug the same hole much deeper IMHO. With the downturn in commodities market, there are many good properties up for sale. Noront should have used some funds to expand its portfolio. Dave Palmer put the ROF properties on hold and went looking for Gold because that is what the market is looking for today. He now has the funds to go back to the ROF if the situation improves. If things go South in the ROF it will not impact the stock price because he has many great projects on the table. That is how you bring value to investors.
