Sudbury Novice "Is Democracy the best system of gov't that can be devised. I hope not."
It is the best that we know of, or at least what I know of. Nothing better to date has been offered.

HOWEVER, in Canada and more so in the US of A, it is not true democracy but a corruption of it. When rich and powerfull through lobbying can circumvent democratic process then it is not true, or is it?

Spence & Attawapiscatt is just one of innumerable examples of a faulty political structure.

I believe in putting one's 'prejudices" up in front and my when it comes to our local natives is:

Marten Falls and Webequie do not own the land and the minerals of the Ring. They MAY have rights to hunt in the area but the reduction of the quality of hunting in the vicinity of the mine sites should have very little effect on their overall hunting. So my view is that they are making a lot of noise about squat.
Sound familiar?

To repeat, they may have some valid complaints about contamination of the environment but that is all.
