Well, in a way, it is George's fault - war economies are hell to live through, and the US has been at war, total or not, since 9/11. That is a factor in the global markets, due to the mounting deficit to fund the war. Some estimates put that cost at $500 Billion, with total projected cost at $2.4 TRILLION. Too bad they couldn't put that money into R&D for a new fuel - then Middle East oil wouldn't hold much value, except as a supply for lubricants. We'd all be driving hydrogen powered cars and the threat of global warming would start to recede.
