If the news is not something being generated by the exchanges themselves, then someone had to tell the exchanges that news was pending. (I believe that if the news was exchange generated, it would have been released after close on Friday as the exchanges wouldn't have to wait for anyone's approval to release).

I would think that "that someone" would have to have a formal and legally defined relationship with the exchanges. That someone could only be KRY itself. "Some source" wouldn't have the requirement to report or the legal status to speak for KRY to the exchanges.
