Phil I don't think you do get it. They are not replicating what they did in the lab. They are now working at 6 inch using MOCVD. It is a new wafer. And the process is being refined with a whole different tool set.  You seem very interested in this aspect so spend some time to try and understand what the norm in industry is during development of new devices.
