w> was this pre planned or a result of the roadshow i wonder?
I have reason to believe that this was pre-planned, in line with the company fully embracing its new "San Jose" personality.
as for Chris, this move to RFP should in no way reflect on his ability. In fact, I'd further venture that he'll continue to be separately engaged (outside of TR) at least until the roadshow completes, perhaps even through the end of 16Q1.
his years of POET experience are a hard won asset, and passing the baton won't be easy.
this is simply a forward-looking move: POET as a west-coast company now wants a west-coast IR organization handling its affairs.
while Chris' shoes won't be easy to fill, we're in safe hands with RFP and can give a nod to Robert's expertise in having served our industry well: HP (dot:Avago?), Microsemi (I see shades of Adam and a touch of Mohan here), and even the NASDAQ itself.
on the plus side, once he's far enough removed from the day-to-day IR role, Chris will be able to buy lots of POET shares (something he's always wanted to do, I'm certain).
to Robert: a hearty welcome aboard!
to Chris: see you in Vegas, dear friend!
GLAL,
R.
