Exactly! However, if people become impatient because news aren't released when they expect them or if people get carried away by panic and fear, the share price reacts accordingly.
Not to mention the so-called manipulation, but even manipulation requires people (implicitly) willing to let themselves being manipulated, and agreeing to let themselves be infected with unfounded fear.
And while we are staring at the daily share price convulsions, our company is instead busily working on real shareholder value which will pay out in the months and years to come.
