Ownership: Southern holds a substantial interest in Oban Mining Corporation, which in turn owns 100% of the Windfall Lake Gold Project
In August 2013, Southern Arc acquired a 26% interest in Eagle Hill Exploration, which owned the high-grade Windfall Lake Gold Project in Quebec, Canada. With gold grades averaging 8.42 g/t gold in the indicated category, Windfall Lake is one of Canada's highest-grade resource-stage gold projects, located in one of the world's best mining jurisdictions.
Southern Arc and Dundee Corporation (29% interest) worked together to advance the Windfall Lake project, executing a number of successful drill campaigns and completing a Preliminary Economic Assessment for the project in April 2015.
In August 2015 Eagle Hill was acquired by Oban Mining Corporation as part of a four-way merger with Ryan Gold and Corona Gold. Osisko Gold Royalties also agreed to invest up to $20 million in the new company. Oban offered Eagle Hill shareholders 10 Oban shares and 5 warrants for each Eagle Hill share, representing a 258% premium to market. Following completion of the transaction, Oban Mining consolidated its shares on a 20:1 basis. Southern Arc now holds a substantial interest in Oban Mining, with both shares and warrants.
