However it did not take his reporting for anyone paying attention to know the truth here. There have been many editorials etc from well informed people that have said essentially the same thing.
In our political system, democracy, politicians care about only one thing....getting reelected. Thus every special interest group is supported in an effort to buy votes. What we can afford is given scant consideration. Keep throwing money at it and maybe the problem will go away. What happened to accountability? It got trumped by "political correctness".
