So everyone is curious about who this mysterious man from Mexico who calls himself Berta really is? Is he a long lost relative?

Has he really found the treasures of Tayopa? Or is he just another poster from Canada who disquises himself as this romantic character who moves among the Mexicans and dreams of becoming Rich and Famous?

Is he really married to his Mexican sweetheart ? And what is his real name anyway?

Does he ride around the hills on a donkey in search of treasures as he has claimed so many times that he does? Does he drink as much Tequila and Saki as he brags about?

While in Mexico, we actually went in search of Berta Curry. We looked on every mountain top from Mexico City to Hermossillo and back to Guadalajara. We combed the hills near Guadaloupe and further south near La Yesca.

We inquired in every village and at every bar we could find. It was a tough assignment. Jim V. was deathly against drinking on this trip.

Finally, after abandoning our search, while sitting near the pool at a hotel in Hermossillo sipping cool beverages to keep ourselves hydrated, this mysterious chap wandered off the streets wearing what we considered winter clothing and introduced himself as the Man from La Mancha.

He was clearly a prospector as he wore the traditional garb, light in colour to fend off the heat of the day and braces to keep the pants loose around his 28 inch waist.

In spite of being a "mature" individual he was in incredible physical shape; clearly the result of years of toiling through the mountains of Mexico. His body fat index would be the envy of any weight lifter or Olympic champion.

He had with him the most gorgeous woman any of us had seen in years. We were all envious and drooling. She was easily 20 years his junior. He immediately introduced her as his wife and often politely deferred to his dear wife in his classy "outlaw" manner.

Both Berta and Joe spoke Spanish and English fluently. Together they wove a tale of intrigue and adventure while we all hung on their every word. Together they told the tale of their 30 year search for the treasures of the Sierra Madre that would make The Treasures of the Lost Arc look like a sunday school exercise. Even the Hoov was speechless. (Now that takes some doing).

Joe and his lovely bride departed as quickly and inconspicuously as they had arrived without completing the story and without revealing the secrets of the Sierra Madre.

It seems the secrets of the lost treasures of Tayopa will remain untold.

We were left wondering if he was an imposter or the real Berta Curry.

However before he left he wispered quietly to Jim V. that someday, at a time of his own choosing, he will return to complete the story. Jim was left speachless (a very unusual occurance indeed).

So Berta Curry, if you are listening and with your permission, we would like to post some of the pictures that were secretly taken on that most interesting of days.

Berta Curry you have many fans on agoracom that would like to get a glimps of your true identity. Do we have your permission to post these to agoracom? Your fans are waiting.
