High-grade Ni-Cu-Pt-Pd-Au-Ag-Rh-Cr-V discoveries in the "Ring of Fire" NI 43-101 Update (March 2011): 11.0 Mt @ 1.78% Ni, 0.98% Cu, 0.99 gpt Pt and 3.41 gpt Pd and 0.20 gpt Au (M&I) / 9.0 Mt @ 1.10% Ni, 1.14% Cu, 1.16 gpt Pt and 3.49 gpt Pd and 0.30 gpt Au (Inf.)

Noront has stated that they are going to be using directional drilling. There will be 1 borehole (hole 49 might be used). Someone posted this site yesterday and the technology will be something similar to this.

As for angled holes from the surface. Think of a right angle triangle and then you can use some basic math to get the length of the hole.

e.g. you want a depth of 1000m and an angle of 10 degrees.

tan(10)=?/1000

?=~176

176m being the length of the triangle's base.

Then using pythagoris.

1000^2+176^2=130976

sqrt(130976)=~1441m

So, the hole would be around 1441m long to get to a depth of 1000m with a 10 degree grading.
