Hi rodg45,

I am still uncertain on how chromium ore is priced. The price I was led to believe earlier ($2/lb) does not seem to correspond with the prices listed in the web site below nor does it correspond with the price at the website you posted. And the price varies depending not only on the percentage of Cr2O3 in the ore but on other factors as well. A price in the range of 52% Cr2O3 (depending on the type of ore) seems to be 12,000 RS. In $US this works out to (12,000/42) = $285/ton.

A difficulty we are facing in pricing this ore is that it seems to be very rare in North America. South Africa produces about 50% of the world supply, and most of the rest comes from Iran, India, other Asian countries and Brazil. So for the most part the pricing is not as transparent and available as it is for nickel, copper, platinum, palladium...
