I came across this article which is dated March, 2008 and it mentions the possibility of Vale/Inco & Xstrata buying NOT out eventually. It refers to the possibility of finding DE2, 3, 4, 5, etc.. so it was obviously published prior to news of DE2 but I hadn't seen it myself until today. My apologies if someone has already posted this awhile ago but I found it to be quite an interesting read and thought I would share.
