I do all of my trading in my Roth IRA to avoid taxes and the insane reporting that goes with them. With Schwab option trades are less than $10 plus $0.75/per option or a bit less than a penny a share. I've been exercising the deep in the money options with virtually no premium left instead of selling, so Schawb does the whole trade for $8.95 when I exit, saving me enough money for a nice lunch. These days I'm still buying in multiples of tens. I try to minimize the premiums, so buying Jan15 $12's still irks, but it may be the best strike of all.
