That jury is a congregation of lay men. They could include your car mechanic, hot dog vendor, dance major, etc.

Regardless of the true merits of the case, their understanding of the issue may be SO FLAWED that they'll come to a ridiculous conclusion.

I don't understand how, uninformed people can arbitrate over such complex matters, inventions and concepts that are created by people trained in the art for decades following rigorous education!

I guess that is how democracies work -- a bit like communism: All are equal!
