The prior art organizes independent logically tied data ( files) with the assistance of: "allocation table and a data region divided into data areas, each allocation table having entries corresponding to region data areas, the block allocation routine for selecting a block in which to store data"

e.Digital has come up with methods to FULLY manage Logically linked data without the use of the above.

After all the fluff.....this is a defining argument considered...

"177. For the reasons set forth in detail above, it is therefore my opinion that, to the extent that “a logical link between the previous logical data segment and the new data segment” is construed to be broader than “a pointer written to the previous logical data segment that points to the physical location of the new data segment,” Krueger discloses all limitations of Claim 1 of the ’108 patent, and that Claim 1 is therefore invalid."

They are arguing over what the broadest phrase should be. This guy says Krugers(MSFT) phrase is broader than e.Digitals phrase.
That conclusion is nonsense....when you read the specifications compared to each other...there' a night and day difference.
