Your wildest "Speculation" is far better than the best "FACTS" we are made to suffer reading here on a daily basis by those who proffess to save us from ourselves...
If you hear an attorney tell the Judge in open Court that they are "settleing 3 cases", and if it takes all of the additional time requested to file the papers with the the Court, it is logical toe state that these settlements more more complicated than a lum sum settlement only. That my friend is not a "Wild Guess", and don'tet anyone say otherwise...
A to what was the lump sum paid?, and how long will the royalties last, etc., I say who cares.?...
The signifiant issue here relates to the fact that the increasing number of the "settlements" will soon be the driving force in leading the "Herd" of the infringers to DM'S Barn, seeking to settle and be done with this drag on their business in this highly competative economic condition. Simply put, as the word gets out that DM is "Reasonable", defendants would just as soon "settle" instead of being distracted with litigation and loose their clients to some of the other defendants who will gladly take over their customers...
