In-Seat display would be a logical next step for the next generation eVU and would open up a much larger IFE opportunity.

However, EDIG did not mention the embedded option currently.

ANA orders Panasonic’s eX2 for 767s and 777s

Panasonic Avionics Corporation has received a new order for its eX2 IFE system from All Nippon Airways (ANA), to be fitted on the carrier’s Boeing 767-300ER and 777-300ER aircraft.

The eX2 system is an Audio and Video On Demand (AVOD) system delivered on high-resolution seatback monitors. Passengers can also view their own iPod and other personal media content on the in-seat display using the iPod, USB and audio jacks. In addition, the eX2 system offers advanced interactive entertainment choices, including shopping, and games, movies and television programming.

“The eX2 system offers many innovative entertainment features that are valued and demanded by our passengers,” said Katsuya Kato, vice-president products & service innovations of All Nippon Airways. “We will continue to look to Panasonic Avionics to provide our passengers with new options in the area of in-flight entertainment and communications.”
