I don’t think that there would be any synergies? I found that article very bullish but it does just apply to high current power application eg power supplies/analog. That being said what I find very interesting is that the POET platform can also utilize GaN for high current applications. They are very aware of industries growing interest in GaN. The article really points to the demise of silicon. In the fascinating article Eileen posted the other day on 5G I was blown away by industries plans to go to that speed so soon. It really helps to underscore the need for III-V materials to meet the RF and power requirements.
