I have a financial guy I use and he is great for the boring safe stuff. Which makes up a good portion of my portfolio. However when I told him I was gonna buy this Canadian nano cap in the solar/tech sector he freaked out and warned me against it several times. Basically told me I would lose everything I put in. So not long ago I called him and told him to put a stop loss in on my PTK for a triple. (Which if I get stopped out something is bad wrong) his response was....wow. Financial planners do a good job at some things, but spec plays arent oneb of them.
