These two snippets are from the Noront website under "Infrastructure", and "Alternatives".

It is a little dated but the language sounds like something that is a given. Too bad they don't give an update about this, you know, encourage the troops. Probably this will become more transparent when we see the EA on the 20th.

However, to support construction activities Noront plans to upgrade the existing winter road along the existing East-West corridor from Pickle Lake to Webequie, in conjunction with the First Nations that currently use this route. This will include increasing funding to develop the main ice road towards Webequie and development of a new ice road leading east to the project site from Webequie.

Site Access from Pickle Lake:
Noront retains the alternative to develop an East-West access route from Pickle Lake to site following the current winter road footprint. Environmental studies of this route have continued through 2012. Using this route for winter road access will require improvements to it.
