The current news coverage on a native community in Ontario requiring Red Cross intervention is distressing. Nobody should live the way some are required to live in our country. Equally distressing is the fact that these situations don't happen over night and seldom in a vacuum.

Hopefully, the answer will include more opportunities for these communities to improve their situation by improved infrastructure and employment for the region with appropriate internal controls to ensure the funds are properly disbursed.
