Tau, you asked:

Do you know more about the slurry pipe line and where else it is used under similar conditions

The following info is directly from a 43-101 Technical Report from a soon to be producing iron ore mine in Labrador. (New Millenium) The pipeline will comprise the second stage of their plan, initially they will have a DSO operation. So if is doable in Labrador It should be doable in Northern Ontario.

PIPE LINE

From the concentrate storage tanks, slurry will be pumped at 65% solids density through a 750 km long pipeline to storage tanks at the Point-Noire installations. A booster pumping station will be provided 475 km down the line. The pipeline will be buried to prevent freezing and repair kits with the necessary excavation and other equipment will be pre-positioned at strategically located points along the pipeline.
