I think that you may have missed the point of my post, from which you snipped your subject line.

Noront had a bullseye drawn on this target due to its vertical orientation; non-vertical deposits will have a comparatively weaker "signature" and will be harder to find. We know for sure that FWR is actively looking for Ni/Cu, as are others. With any luck (and some damned good technology and geophysicists) those harder-to-define targets will get sussed out.

There are no shotguns involved here; they are all rifle shots made with very expensive bullets. The hard part is choosing the correct target. Thanks to R.N. and James Mungall, Noront has been exceptional in their markmanship. The new crew has a tough act to follow, as do the other players in the RoF.
