Roos, I haven't responded to anyone tonight because I wanted to absorb everything this weekend ... but you're posts forced my hand. This has nothing to do with "losing a job" because we've got close to 70 other "jobs". This contract barely puts a dent in our income statement.
This has to do with Parisotto and a board turning their backs on 78,000 investors and the greatest IR machine ever created - in an environment in which funds, banks and institutions are crumbling and being nationalized. It is non-sensical. There are companies that would kill for this kind of support - but I don't believe we are dealing with non-sensical people.
Second, wherever big money exists, big people will always try to take it. If you don't believe that, then simply go speak to investors of Aurelian Resources.
Money will be made from this project - but you're kidding yourself to believe Bay Street wants to make sure everyone comes along for the ride. Wall Street and Bay Street work for themselves and each other. They don't give a damn about you or they wouldn't have written crappy mortgages, re-packaged them, sold them off and sold non-existant insurance policies against them while turning around and jacking people out of their original crappy mortgages.
Fuld, Lewis and these clowns shrugged their shoulders in front of congress because they had already made $500 million. They're partying in their estates while the little people pick up the pieces and the bill. They all knew what they were doing but their sense of entitlement excused them from their own actions.
This isn't about 1 / 70th of my income statement. This is about the hard work of smart, energetic, active and collaborative group of people being dismissed as immaterial - at a time when companies are fighting to find and keep investors.
Why wouldn't they want these people on their side? Working together to secure more investors and maintaining current ones? Give me one good reason - and don't tell me its name calling because that was a well-deserved product of their refusal to connect with the Noront AGORACOM shareholder community.
I've been at this for 12 years and have seen every angle. I've only lost one other client to a situation that made zero sense - but it made a lot of personal sense to them. It backfired and their off 80%. Not because we were out of the picture - because bad decisions beget bad decisions.
This is a terrible decision.
