I have recently gotten involved in leveraged day trading. I can short any stock I want to pretty much any amount I want and no one checks if I or the company I am dealing with has share certificates. So this is complete BS. I believe naked short selling is rampant and used agressively in day trading in this bear market but because positions are closed before day,s end, no one is aware of the size of the naked short selling. For the record, I have not shorted any stocks at this point but I can see its appeal from a pure money perspective. It is used by greedy individuals that have more savvy and less ethics and as such, destroys average investors portfolios more than any other tactic-IMO.
