I see in todays Globe that the RCMP has an internal report regarding organized crime manipulating the markets. Crime outfits are using "criminalized professionals" to manipulate stocks for immediate gain and money laundering. Only four major charges this year but the mounties are admitting that busting this type of crime is a daunting challenge. As a result, the confidence of canadians in the financial systems integrity is shaken. Thats an understatement!! When is government going to take a stance on stopping the opportunities for organized crime to rob retail investors using quasi-legal business transactions on the markets? We obviously need an overhaul of regulations and enforcement. The RCMP budget for this type of crime is $32 million, meanwhile taxpayers are being robbed of billions. It's a disgrace.
