I regard indexes as an indicator of what is happening with the companies that are listed on a particular exchange. The companies included in an index are those that are large in market cap and indicative of the market that is serviced by the exchange.
Being part of an index has little to do with a particular company unless it is a bell for the market as a whole. It may matter to companies like GM, Exxon, Intel or Microsoft but for ours, hardly.
It could mean that a fund that does not do much research as to where to invest may decide not to or if invested to lower their position based on us no longer being part of an index.
However our fundamentals have not changed so anyone knowing the company should not give a thought.

Just my opinion.
