What Glorieux said about the Ascot/Road Zone being uneconomic to mine is false and without merit. His conclusion was unwarranted, and not supported by any evidence. There is insufficient evidence to determine the economic value of any part of the Timmins/88/Ascot deposit at the present time. To declare any part of the deposit economic or uneconomic is simply premature. I spoke to Mr. Tilsley directly about this subject after Glorieux's post.
The exploration drilling in the Road Zone did not explain the geochemical anomalies that led to drilling it in the first round of drilling. The most likely explanation for that is that the gold signal came from deeper within the ground than the elevation that was sampled by the diamond drilling. That view is supported by the fact that the quartz was primarily in the volcanic sediments. Very little diorite was intercepted. New holes will be collared to undercut the earlier holes, to sample rock deeper beneath the geochemical anomalies.
The Snow White Zone that is creating a bit of excitement was discovered by similar exploration drilling. Another promising target which returned some good diorite intersections was "The Big Red Blob", NE of Ascot. It appears to continue on strike to the NE. There are no shortage of good targets coming from the exploration program.
