Neither DL nor PTSC is a party to the debt, nor are either in BK.

Can you point me to any Code section which states that a debt in BK cannot be extinguished voluntarily by an independent outside party to the Bankruptcy action ?

I am unaware of any such prohibition, and don't believe doing so would qualify as a "preference" payoff since it's not the debtor paying it off.
