SIRI makes about $100M/yr from equipment sales (presumably the items that contain MMP tech). Depending on how the settlement / license is structured, using historical data, there's a likelihood that the license fee is fairly small. In the less than $100K range.
However, if they base it on total revenue, INCLUDING subcription fees (since without subscribers, there's no need for the equipment), it could approach $500K if in line with the best historical data.
Hopefully, the license fees have increased dramatically, and there is an order of magnitude increase. Would be nice to see that, and perhaps see the SIRI settlement set up as a recurring royalty since they are similarly structured with their subscription fees.
Per their last 10-K, they have just under 19M subscribers. Subcriptions run around $13/month or $142/ year. Even if SIRI bumped their fees up $1 per year to cover the MMP, and if PTSC/TPL were able to get just that $1 per year, that would provide a recurring annual income to PDS of $19M for TPL & PTSC to split. Even HALF of that would not be a bad launching point, IMO.
