The patent 445 does that....the premise is...physical (e.Digital) vs virtually (all the others) managed data placement.

e.Digital does not virtually manage data placement, configurations, or anything....

(1) The software aptitude is one thing....(2) the physical consideration (cache) that drives discrete data signal segments to memory is another.

Where normally a complet file is managed virtually the whole file is at risk....for e.Digital only a segment of a file is at risk.....making e.Digitals methods fault tollerant.
