Micro-processor 21 and the low level API issues of the OS can turn on and off any circuit as needed. Be they, voice activated, button, touch screen....etc...and can be from one circuit or an automated process of many circuits. The sensors are not important....the manner in which they are controlled and their production conditions... are. Configuring them to be more productive is what is important.
Then comes the caching issues of that production, or the I/O...and it does not have to be circuited to flash flash.
Many moving parts of sophistication...with simple micro-controller....including turning on and off DSP's./ SRAM cache...etc...as needed.
Micro-controller + secondary power source + MOS = Micro-Processor 21 Platform
