Zenyatta Ventures Ltd

It seems such a so, so slowwww process, reference this new promotional campaign but we are making progress, not like some recent negative commentary, whom suggest they haven’t made any headway in 15 months, but considering the source and continuous axe to grind, you understand the rest of the story.

The new promotion started 12 Feb, as quoted, “This is the first in a series of updates on the market and business developments.”

The 4 Target Markets was big news! Many in industry, confirm much new sources Supply are needed to support the growing Demand for the highest quality and purest forms of Graphite, and across many of the same sectors that ZEN is targeting.

Based on research and dialogue with end-users, at this point in time, Zenyatta expects to have a targeted market application segmentation which includes 20-25% for high purity graphite in Fuel Cell products, 25-30% in Lithium-ion batteries and 25-30% in powder metallurgy. Powder metallurgy and the remaining 15-30% target applications will be discussed in upcoming news releases.” 9 March

Not only progress but a plan! Make a Market by establishing Demand for Albany Supply, demonstrate Commercial Applicability and prove economics in the Mining Plan of Operations. All this for who?

Li-ion was reported 12 Feb, Fuel Cell 9 March, Powder Met ???, Mystery Sector ???

The promotion is slowly taking shape as we expect at least 2 more updates,…but we should get many more supplemental NR’s, from the Li-ion Battery progressive Testing (from the Coin Cell stage), and further accomplishments noted for advanced Fuel Cell Testing.

“This is the second in a series of updates on the market and business developments.” 9 March

I find Dr Chahar’s comments (below) from both NR’s comforting for these reasons,

  1. For both LiB and Fuel Cell, no further milling or purification was needed; and

  2. Both LiB and Fuel Cell are now undergoing advanced testing

We will see additional LiB/Fuel Cell advanced testing NR’s, along with the anticipated Powder Met and the Mystery Sector. My wish would be for a timelier and speedier promotion, to try to maintain and generate momentum, as we are being held in-check. Testing is however time consuming, and seems the present Achilles heel of slow processes, those involved in accessing product compatibility, and more complicated by dealing with the 35 which have NDA’s, slowing the time duration for reporting feedback and results.

I find it as no coincidence, that NA governments are backing this unique ZEN Graphite find and believe in its future potential, from the US DOE using this graphite in advanced LiB Battery research, to the ON and Cdn gov’t grants and support funding. Personally, I have no doubts Albany will be developed, as ‘NOHFC’ and ‘MNDM’ commentary support the same conclusion, “The purpose of this program is to help Northern Ontario businesses reduce the technical and financial risks associated with scaling-up and demonstrating their new and innovative technologies. It is also intended to support them as they ramp-up for commercial production.”

One day it will all come together and be perfectly clear how all the players intertwine. There is no doubt, the world is driving towards much more green and clean new technologies. Personally, I see this eventually as a North American consortium that is Gov’t backed, with a Strategic Miner Invested that serves many End-Users now being defined in our 4 sectors of interest. Cheers, Mark

Dr. Bharat Chahar (12 Feb), VP of Market Development for Zenyatta stated, “Since the purity and particle size of the material provided by SGS processing was already in the range needed for LIB application, no further milling or purification was needed. Compared to natural flake graphite supplied to the industry from China, no extra treatment and no dangerous hydrofluoric acid purification process were required to generate our material. No extensive milling was needed to prepare the Zenyatta graphite with minor loss of material occurring during the shaping process.”

The Zenyatta graphite material was classified and processed in a mechano-fusion machine by a standard industry technique to increase packed density of the material. The higher density Zenyatta material was coated to improve the irreversible capacity loss. Electrochemical tests were conducted using coin cells commonly used in the industry for screening purpose.

Dr. Chahar added, “Due to simple mineralogy, high crystallinity and desirable particle size distribution, Zenyatta graphite has shown first testing specification ranges needed for the Li-ion battery industry. While further tests are ongoing by potential customers to verify other performance characteristics, this initial feedback on results is extremely encouraging. We now plan to carry out advanced testing with a full cell made from the Zenyatta graphite anode.
