Looking at the exit points on his drawing, one exit was heading in a NorthWest direction which would be on axis to-wards the PoundMaker ( my take only ). I guess if tourmalin is found then , according to a geo friend, Tourmaline is found near a eruption.. T he poundMaker is sitting in a sweet spot.............' WINNIPEG, MB, Feb. 23 /CNW/ - Wildcat Exploration Ltd. (TSX-VEN:WEL) announced final results of their 2003 summer activities. Between July 15 and September 30, 2003 Wildcat completed a geological mapping, sampling and prospecting program on theicamp of southeast Manitoba.
The Poundmaker property, largest of the Company's landholdings, comprises hectares (20km by 10km) and is transected by all-weather provincial highway 304. The property lies 6km northwest of the Bissett mine with a 1.2 million ounce production history. The Poundmaker property hosts over 16 known gold showings, some with historical workings (shafts, adits, lateral development). The most significant is the Poundmaker deposit, a shear hosted, high-grade gold, quartz vein system open at depth and along strike. In 2002 diamond drilling intersected an intense alteration zone approximately 125 meters southeast of the Poundmaker shaft comprising carbonate-sericite- fuchsite-pyrite schist with quartz veining over 220 feet (67 meters) in width. Alteration of the host rocks to the Poundmaker deposit is narrow and less intense in comparison with this newly discovered alteration zone and remains to be evaluated by further drilling.
A new gold discovery was made during the summer of 2003, dubbed the Lady and is located approximately 1km south of the Poundmaker deposit. The auriferous zone comprises numerous gold occurrences in a 400m by 300m area that straddles a sheared volcanic - intrusive contact. Twelve (12) grab samples returned gold values ranging from about 100 ppb (0.1g/tonne) to 5,000 ppb (5 g/tonne) gold and an angular quartz boulder yielded 25,000 ppb gold. A gold value of 4950 ppb (5 g/tonne) was obtained from pyritic volcanic rock with little to no apparent quartz veining. Approximately 2 km to the southeast of the Lady Gold Zone, along this intrusive contact (but off the property), lies the Luagna gold deposit. The Lady Gold Zone is open along strike to the north where it is poorly exposed. Detailed geochemical surveying and trenching will be conducted in the suthis gold mineralization.
A newly recognized shear zone with pervasive ankerite, sericite and uartz veining was discovered north of the intersection of highway 304 and Pointer Lake road. This shear zone is a possible splay or parallel structure to the regionally extensive Wanipigow fault, the dominant ore-controlling structure in the Bissett mining camp. This new shear zone has not been evaluated anexploration program.
South of Lake Wanipigow is a poorly exposed regional fold structure intruded by two feldspar porphyry intrusions near the fold closure. The northern limb of the fold is strongly sheared, carbonated, silicified, tourmalinized and locally hosts extensive quartz veining. Limited sampling was performed and only geochemically anomalous gold has been encountered to date. Wildcat Exploration holds the largest exploration acreage in the Bissett mining camp covering some 216 square kilometers. The Bissett mining camp is located 100 kilometers north east of Winnipeg.
Final exploration results of the Siderock property lsector of the Bissett mining camp will be release very shortly.
