There is no (affordable) financing without permitting and no permitting without financing apparently, so they are off to improve the efficiency of other poorly run operations and take the surplus they produce with their skill base. Seems a good plan. The YGP is hugely undervalued, to sell it would not bring much, and the team needs to build its market value whether they plan to keep it or not, time will tell on that one.
Time is a big factor for the following reason. I think another thing this team needs to do (or anyone who buys it) is build credibility with the MVEIRB and the locals, the region has had problems with fly-by-night gold miners in the past who abused the land and created labour problems. This announcement will go a long way to building that street cred in Yellowknife and the Mackenzie. The team members need to establish their cred, their reliability, their environmental and production skills, their commitment to fair labour practices, and their knowledge of appropriate technologies to prevent future pollution, I believe Hugh Wilson and Brian Briggs have what it takes, and at this point I don't think anyone else such as a larger entity would either want such a relatively small project, nor be able to get the permitting done any quicker.
