Re: What's the market cap of a...Detour Gold Corp.

There doesn't seem to be a consistant metric. Take Timmins Gold Corp for instance (TGD): They produce between around 120 to 125K ounces per year, but only trade at US$1.33 with a market cap of 191 Million. A lousy P/E ratio of less than 7. I just don't get it.....

Re: Tyhee's perusing a rather unique approach to funding its flagship YGP operation.

Yeah, this might be a reverse scenario as we are the undercapitalized ones this time. At the time of the Endeavour purchases, silver was still in the basement, price-wise, around $4-5 dollars/ounce.

I remember an article by Bob Moriarty when he described the easy pickings down in Mexico. Some of the operations were so cash starved, they couldn't even afford to pump out the encroaching water. Many times they just followed the vein down to the water table then abandoned the shaft and looked for another vein outcrop to follow downward. Also, the mills and other equipment were in really sad shape. All this was around 2003 if I recall correctly, and they were well positioned to ride the bull over the next few years as silver prices climbed. I'm kind of hoping we catch the next ride up.

Re: Tyhee's perusing a rather unique approach to funding its flagship YGP operation.

If I recall correctly, this is a similar strategy that Endeavour Silver (EXK) used in acquiring the Guanacevi silver mine in Mexico. There were numerous family-run small silver mines in the area with good ore grades that were under-capitalized. All they needed was an injection of money and some mining expertise. No permitting delays or red tape. It paid off quite well for them. The relatively small cash flow kept share dilution to a minimum until they brought the new crushers and floatation circuits on-line leading to their first significant pour of dore bars.

Re: Bernanke and Armstrong agree...

And yet Jim Sinclair disagrees. Both sides of the inflation/deflation debate make valid points, so I'm not quite sure whom to believe.

Re: Confiscation?

Writer Stewart Thompson says there will be no confiscation, as they already did it by taking gold down to ~$250 where weary gold holders willingly dumped their gold. He further stated that with 3 trillion dollars sitting in IRAs, 401(k)s, and pension funds, these will be the most likely targets of the government. That kind of money just sitting there will be irrisistable to Uncle Sam, and much easier to grab. Swapped out for government paper, of course to "protect" the citizens against that horrible volitility.

Certificates

For those of us holding Tyhee stock in the form of certificates for long-term investing, do we need to exchange the old certs for new ones, or will the originals still be negotiable in the future?
