cliffs needs spq/kwg but they are going to have to pay. their offers simply ticked neil/frank and all the shareholders. it made n and f get together to devise a great plan. and it made the shareholders so ticked that they're voting for the amalgamation.
cliffs has to come with a knock-out price , in my estimation and even with a knockout price, i and many others are so ticked off at their lowballing that their next price simply may not be good enough.
what's spq/kwg worth together as they drill more and uncover more.
and why would i jump at cliffs' next offer without having seen the independent valuations?
were cliifs to abandon their miserly history and offer something QUITE SUBSTANTIAL, i think i'd still think now that the combined companies will be worth even more than their offer. they've put themselves into a position where no one trusts any offer they might come up with.
cliffs, you lowballed fwr and were smug a month later with the steal of the century. won't happen this time.
