Thats not entirely true TRAPS

When you transfer your shares from your cash/margin account, the shares are deemed, sold, at the price you made the switch.

You will have to pay capital gains at the level you made the swap.

For those of you who may be in a loss position, I believe that you cannot do the same and trigger a capital loss because you still have the shares and would break the 30 day rule. If you are tempted to move the shares in, you would need to sell on the open market, and wait 30 days to buy them back if you want to claim the capital loss.

Of course gambling that the price will stay the same or lower, might be a good one given the track record of management.

It would be like getting the 'mates rate' and for once you would be happy with management for messing up.
